Why did you become a Therapist?

I had been experiencing numbness and tingling in my hands and feet so I went to the doctor and they had to send me to a neurologist. I also went to the chiropractor on a Friday to see if it was something that they could help me with, they said it was stress and wanted me to come back 3x a week, and that Monday after seeing them I ended up with bell’s palsy and went to the doctor again. I finally took things into my own hands and went to the hospital, and they did MRI’s, blood draws and spinal taps just to come to the conclusion that I had Gillan barre syndrome and did 5 rounds of IVIG and sent me home 2 weeks later. I went home and they symptoms became worse and so my husband took me to Creghton, which then I went through MRI’s, blood tests and spinal taps again plus a nerve biopsy. They had diagnosed me with CIDP (chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy). They sent me home after IVIG and plasma pheresis and I started physical therapy, this is where they helped me get stronger to be able to walk, climb stairs and care for my children again, and this is when I realized I wanted to be like them and help people heal and get back to the functioning life like they did with me.
