Siouxland staple Physical Therapy Specialists joins Rock Valley Physical Therapy family.

On March 3rd, Physical Therapy Specialists will engage the Tri-State area under the Rock Valley Physical Therapy banner.

Though the name will change, what remains the same is the tremendous, one-on-one patient care that has been a Physical Therapy Specialists staple for nearly 25 years.

The two locations, 915 Pierce St., Sioux City, Iowa; and 317 Dakota Dunes Blvd. Suite J, Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; have been under the successful leadership of Tim Saulsbury MSPT, DPT and Kevin Poss, MPT, DPT, and a dedicated group of compassionate therapists, for almost a quarter of a century. Staff, including Saulsbury, will remain the same at both clinics. Poss, who has found a new calling and will be part of the campus ministry at Sioux City’s Bishop Heelan Catholic High School.

A lengthy, up-close relationship between the two practices played a significant role in Poss and Saulsbury trusting Rock Valley with the Physical Therapy Specialists’ legacy.

Both Poss and Saulsbury admire Rock Valley’s commitment to great care, great relationships, and its ability to empower those dedicated to “Making Better Lives.’’

“Rock Valley has a great perspective on the field of physical therapy in terms of respecting what therapists do, how patients and co-workers should be treated and how to maintain a therapist-owned company that can grow and offer therapists control of our profession,’’ Poss said. “They have a great desire to do things right. I am happy it was Rock Valley Physical Therapy that was going to continue the work we began. It has been an honor to be trusted by so many people for their healthcare. I have been blessed to care for them. It has also been important to spread the word to referral sources and the community about how PT can help make lives better.’’

“Our relationship with PTS began many years ago when Kevin Poss met (retired Rock Valley shareholder) Greg Monson at the APTA Private Practice conference,’’ said Mike Horsefield, PT, MPT, MBA, OCS, Rock Valley’s Chief Executive Officer. “A shared purpose and values led to our organizations being fast friends and we have continued to share thoughts, ideas, and resources over the years. We both believe in working hard while we have fun taking great care of our communities and co-workers.’’

Horsfield says it is an honor for Rock Valley to continue to build on the outstanding work done by Poss, Saulsbury and the Physical Therapy Specialists’ staff the past 24 years.

“We are grateful to be entrusted with Tim and Kevin’s legacy and look forward to honoring them by looking for opportunities to better serve communities throughout the Siouxland area,’’ Horsfield said.

Under the Rock Valley umbrella, both clinics will continue to provide a warm, patient-first experience along with therapy treatments which are designed to cover a bevy of needs. Specialty practices like Vestibular Rehab, TMJ, Trigger Point Therapy (Dry Needling), Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) and Pre-Employment screening are available).

“Rock Valley set the standard for a large physical therapy company that wants to serve the local community with the same integrity and care that we have tried to provide for a quarter century,” Poss said. “With their larger resources, I am hopeful that they will be able to provide even better services to our community.’’
